Worship with us this week at St James:

Anyone - whether Christian or not – is most welcome to come to any of our regular church services. These are the most important thing we do as Christians – meeting together to worship God – and they're happy and friendly gatherings.

Please also join us, after the Sunday morning services for coffee, tea and munchies in the Parish Centre (next door)!

Saturday 6 OCTOBER | SUNDAY 7 OCtober

Fr Mark and our Synod Representatives will be away at the annual Synod of the Diocese of Southern Queensland in Brisbane. While we could access sufficient Clergy to provide Eucharists this weekend, with the support of Parish Council, we will be holding Evening and Morning Prayer services instead. These will be led by our Liturgical Assistants and they will use the Homily prepared by Bishop Cameron each week. This is the style of service that many Parishes in the Western Region now have as their regular worship, as they do not have access to sufficient Clergy and only have Eucharists once a month or once every three months.

What is Holy Communion? Holy Communion is a sharing together of bread and wine, in which we are invited to be part of God’s life in Jesus Christ. It can also be known as the Mass, Eucharist, or the Lord's Supper. Christ shared supper with his closest group of friends and said to 'do this in memory of me' – so this is what many Christians seek to do.
