Preparing for Christmas
Throughout December there are special events to help us prepare for Christmas. The season of Advent, which helps with our preparations, happens across the four Sundays before Christmas. This can include daily private prayer and devotion, in addition to our Sunday services.
Our Christmas preparations this year include a Christmas Morning Tea on 10 December at St James’, and a traditional Service of Lessons and Carols at St James’ on 14 December.
For those who are seeking inner peace in the business and rush of Christmas, there’s a special Blue Christmas Service at St Anne’s in Highfields on 20 December.
Go to our Events page to find out more about any of these events.

Christmas Eve
Create or relive special Christmas memories with your family on Christmas Eve.
Our Interactive Family Christmas Service at 5.30 pm is perfect for families with young children. Become immersed in the joy and wonder of the Christmas story; it’s a message of hope for everyone.
Then at 11.30 pm we celebrate a traditional sung Midnight Mass. This is a modern Anglican worship service, with carols and hymns, supported by our wonderful choir and heritage pipe organ. Please also join us after this service for a little Christmas cake and bubbly!
Go to our Events page to find out more.
Christmas Day
On Christmas Day we join in traditional Christmas services with elements dating back almost two centuries. Our traditional Christmas Day services connect us to a living faith that’s as alive today as it was then, sharing the message of hope for people of every time and place: “Peace on earth to those with whom God is pleased.” And that means everybody.
Service times are 7.30 am, 10 am and 1 pm (Dinka language).
